P.S. Don't buy a dell

After 10 months, my Inspiron 1521 notebook pc broke in half just by opening it.  Never dropped, hit, banged, etc.

Sent dell lots of pictures of result just by opening it.  they refused to repair or replace it.  Still have two months  on their "come to your house to fix it"  so called warranty.

An "independant" company wanted to ask questions about customer service.  you bet i filled it out.  was a 3 time dell customer,  no more.  sadly i worked thru dell pc buys with several relatives and friends recently.

not only does cb not like me (no payment for wins), but now it is and will be all my fault when something goes wrong with the people i love's computers.

oh yeah, i am using it, but it is duct taped up the yin yang with a cooler underneath it, lol.  michael dell, i hope you're in india, where all your "customer and technical service" folks are.  You know, "Alice", "Ken", "paul", "Roger", etc.

Made in Malaysia, "serviced" by liars.

sorry i had to vent and warn friends.

 Betts,
Try calling or contacting the Better Business Bureau or the Federal Trade Commision.  They both will send Dell a letter for them to respond to. I guess computers are kinda like cars.....every once in a while a Lemon comes out and everything goes wrong with it.  I know you can go online to both there sites and that may be faster.  Ive had 2 Dells in 7 years.  My new one is a Insperion desktop purchased in Dec. last year and my old one still works.  Best of luck

My experience with Dell is as follows { I dont own one}   My sons Dell had a problem after one year{ he bought a different one}, granddaughter bought one, it wouldnt even turn on. Called Dell and they wanted me to troubleshoot it. I said no this is brand new computer, send me a new one.{ They did}.  Lilpeanut has a Dell that would freeze whenever she put a cd in it. She called Dell on phone for 3 hours to fix it Still happened every time she tried cd. She finally sent ti back to Dell. She got it back in about 3 days. Reason it was quick, they just take another one they fixed and send it to you. She had to download all the drivers and install them herself. All these Dells were laptops. The desktops from Dell seem to be fine but steer away from the laptops. I myself have a Compaq. I would really prefer an Acer.

Sam and my daughter have Dell laptops. We've had one of them for 4 years and the other about a year and a half. The only problems we have had were self inflicted. LOL
