I have wondered about the $250 for the being on the board in slots, tripeaks and poker. I have asked if anyone knows of anyone who has ever won it and the answer is always no. Some people have belonged as long as 8 years. I just wonder if there is such a prize.

Personal friends with CB - well, I have talked with the original owner a lot over the years, but not in the past 2 or 3 years. He hardly talks to anyone anymore, and I have no influence with him and no way to contact him. As far as I know, it is an outside company that is running the site, not him.
In the interests of fairness I think his personal life should stay out of being referred to, as it has nothing to do with Cashbreak, but you did bring it up. But yes, I do believe he was railroaded into pleading guilty by a vengeful ex-wife in order to save his child from testifying. And I applaud that he was willing to put his child ahead of himself in this sad situation. He has done nothing to anyone in CB that has anything to do with that episode, so it should say in the past where it belongs.
Like I said, I do not believe he is running CB anymore - last I heard there were numerous SYSOPS, and he rarely even came on. There are also numerous programmers, and although he signs the checks (with a pre-made stamp, I will add), his "real" career keeps him much too busy for the day-to-day operation of CB. I never said that CB does not have it's problems - I know it took over 6 months to get my last check for $25. And no, I have not seen any real big winners, although I have seen several win some multi-hundred dollar JPs.
I've been in CB since the first week of games, and my hubby for almost a year before that (when there was just a lotto). All I can say is, if you don't want to play at CB - GO SOMEWHERE WHERE YOU CAN BE HAPPY (if you can be happy!).
the tourney winners drawing is listed in the raffles, it is the 3rd one from the bottom of the page, you can check there to see how many entries you have in it and see who won it each month also
i am responding to several different things i saw in this thread, not necessarily in order, but here goes....
about the 'they have never paid out any serious prize money' thing - i guess that person is talking about on lottos, because i and many others that i know have won what i consider major prize money in the 7 years that i have played at cb, i would be interested in knowing how many other free lotto sites have paid out serious prize money in that time also, i know a lot of people that play a lot of different lotto sites every day and none of them have ever won more than about $50 at any of them that i know of
about the 'over 50,000 entries in the $500 raffle' thing - wow, you entered over 250 million chips in the $500 raffle and over 112.5 million chips in the $100 raffle at one time? i have entered 25 million at one time twice and it was back when raffles were much cheaper to enter and i never won one either, but i still enter a few million chips a week in them just to have a chance at them, oh, and the 'only about 1000 entries in it' - that is 1000 players entered, not the amount of entries total, some of them might have had just as many entries as you but it could have been someone with one entry that won it
about the 'player who never got paid after over a year' thing - i saw and chatted with that player very recently at cb, they did get paid and they were back at cb paying and playing again so i guess they weren't that unhappy with the site, they had a new nic but both (old and new nics) were something to do with bostonredsox
about the 'kewl cancelled his membership' thing - he did let his gold expire on his own account but he is there every single day and night playing in gold on his sister's account so i guess he isn't that unhappy with the site and hasn't found a better place to play either
about the 'my credits don't add properly on a continuous basis' thing - you can go to the acct info page and check your game chip history (for the last day or so depending on the game you are playing) any time you think you didn't get credit for a win and you will see that all bets and wins are posted there, i have thought there was a mistake a few times myself but when i went and looked i found out i was the one that was mistaken
about the 'paying for lottos' thing - the lottos are free to play, what you pay for is for them to play them for you, which you know is a pain in the arse if you have ever played on the free side and done them yourself, it is well worth the 27 cents a day just for that convenience to me, all the rest is gravy, and why should we cancel our memberships and play on the free side just because you are unhappy with the site, we are all there because we want to be there and enjoy the friends and games enough to be willing to pay the fee, i am financially challenged myself but i still think it is very cheap entertainment and it has saved me a lot of money over the years, i used to go to real bingo about once a month and now i barely go once a year, i have more fun at cb anyway and get to spend time with some of the nicest people i have ever met
about the 'rules say 4 - 6 weeks' thing - i do think they should change the wording on the rules to reflect the current turnover time between winning and getting paid, and i wish it was quicker also, but if that is what they have to do to keep the site afloat then i am all for it, this is the best place (games and players) i have ever found and i for one do not want to lose it
it really gets old seeing people complaining in chat all the time about it, it seems like if they are that unhappy at cb they would cancel their membership and go play somewhere else instead of continuing to pay just to hang around btching and moaning all the time
